Dentist Dr. Jeff Shnall to move location of his Beech Dental practice to Main Street and Kingston Road in July

Longtime Beach dentist Dr. Jeff Shnall is preparing to move his practice, Beech Dental to a new home in the community, after more than three decades of serving the community.
Shnall, who has been practicing in the Beach since 1992, will be moving from his current office at Kingston Road and Beech Avenue to a new space in the eco-friendly Orca Building at the corner of Main Street and Kingston Road.
The move follows years of uncertainty surrounding the future of his current building and a search for a location that could provide long-term stability for both his practice and his patients.
“I wanted a place where I could continue practicing for many years to come,” said Shnall.
The dentist has occupied his current office since 2012, after previously spending 20 years next door at another Kingston Road location. While the existing building has served patients well, he said the move comes at a good time, as the office has become increasingly cramped as the practice has grown.
The new location will offer more space, additional treatment rooms, and improved accessibility. The current office requires patients to navigate a flight of stairs, while the new location is at street level; something Shnall said was a priority when selecting a new space.
“Some of my patients, as they age, are finding that difficult. So that attracted me to the new spot, so now, my patients can navigate getting into the practice easier. The new place also has wheelchair access, so it’s much better.”
Alongside his dental practice, Shnall is also the author of several children’s books focused on dental health, which he shares with young patients and their families.
His first book, Saving Jackson’s Tooth, was inspired by seeing some parents delay treatment for cavities while the problem continued to worsen.
“I wrote that book just to educate parents and kids, that when you have a cavity, it’s better to get it filled sooner rather than later,” explained Shnall.
He later wrote, Jackson Visits the Dentist, showing children what happens during a dental appointment, both demystifying the experience and reassuring young patients. He is currently working on Jackson has a Cavity, which will focus on what goes into a filling, something that can definitely be a little scary when you’re little. Incorporating illustrations, rhymes, and education into one simple package, helping kids learn to understand and care for their teeth. It’s been a fun endeavor for Shnall, especially when he gets to share it with the people closest to him.
“My hope and my dream is just to write a whole series of children’s books, because I get a kick out of it. I have grandchildren, and it’s fun seeing them looking at the books, and them seeing their grandfather on the back cover. So it’s kind of cool.”
The book is currently available on Amazon, though Shnall said he will be working to get it stocked in Beach bookstores. He also said that anyone is welcome to contact him if they are looking for a copy.
Shnall will be working at his current office at 350 Beech Ave. until June 30, and will open his new location at 2A Main St. on July 16.
