Halloween kids concert with Chris McKhool set for Oct. 30 as part of the Kingston Road Village Concert Series

The Kingston Road Village Concert Series will be celebrating Halloween with music, costumes, prizes and pizza later this month.
Residents are invited to come in costume and join 2026 JUNO Award nominee Chris McKhool, one of Canada’s most beloved family entertainers, for “a frightfully fun” Halloween kids concert on Friday, Oct. 30, at Kingston Road United Church.
Known for his infectious energy, engaging storytelling, and music that brings people together across cultures, McKhool creates concerts where children don’t just sit and listen—they sing, dance, laugh, wiggle, and become part of the show.
Those attending the Oct. 30 concert can expect a joyful, high-energy evening filled with spooky surprises, catchy songs, costume prizes and plenty of Halloween fun for the whole family.
The fun will begin at 6 p.m. with a pizza (by donation) party followed at 6:30 p.m. by the concert which will also mark the Toronto release celebration for McKhool’s new CD Global Dance Party.
“Join us for this local, fun, safe and exciting event. We can’t wait to see you,” said Tim Dawson, Head Dreamer for the Kingston Road Village Concert Series, said in a news release.
For more than three decades, McKhool has been one of Canada’s most respected creators of music for children and families. A Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal recipient, two-time JUNO Award nominee, and multiple Canadian Folk Music Award winner, McKhool has performed for more than one million children across Canada and beyond. He is also a member of the renowned Sultans of String band.
McKhool’s appearances on Mr. Dressup, YTV’s Treehouse, CBC, and countless theatres and festivals have helped inspire generations of young audiences. Through his music and performances, McKhool celebrates curiosity, kindness, diversity, cultural connection, and the joy of making music together.
The Global Dance Party CD continues that tradition of bringing children and families together through rhythm, movement, storytelling and celebrating music from around the world.
The CD features an ensemble of musicians, including Kevin Laliberté on guitar, Saskia Tomkins on fiddle and Thermin, and Drew Birston on bass, along with a complete horn section. Mixed in Dolby Atmos by Grammy-winning engineer John “Beetle” Bailey, Global Dance Party brings a rich, immersive sound to a celebration designed for family listening.
Dawson said he first met McKhool about decade ago, and both McKhool as a solo artist and with Sultans String has performed a number of times at the Kingston Road Village Concert Series over the years.
““I met the amazing Chris McKhool and his fellow musicians about 10 years ago as a member of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Every day thousands of kids were bussed to Roy Thomson Hall to hear two school shows a day with Chris and his band. I was blown away with their musical integrity, enthusiasm and genuine connection with children,” said Dawson.
“They made music education fun and exciting. It was during that week of concerts that I approached them to appear on our Kingston Road Village Concert Series. Happily, they said yes and here they are to wow us again.”
Kingston Road United Church is located at 975 Kingston Rd.
