Toronto Food Truck Festival set for Woodbine Park over the August long weekend

The Toronto Food Truck Festival opens today at Woodbine Park and will continue for the entire August long weekend.

The Toronto Food Truck Festival is slated for Woodbine Park in the Beach this August long weekend.

The festival takes place from Friday, Aug. 1, through to Monday, Aug. 4, as Toronto celebrates the Simcoe Day long weekend.

There will be a variety of live music performances throughout the event, food from between 30 to 50 of the top food trucks in the province, activities for children, and even a chance for those attending to take part in live-eating challenges.

Vegetarian, halal, vegan, and gluten-free food trucks will be among the participating vendors at the festival.

The festival is also licenced for alcohol service to those who are of legal age.

Woodbine Park is located at 1695 Queen St. E., northeast of Lower Coxwell Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard East.

Admission to the food truck festival is free.

Here is the schedule for the Toronto Food Truck Festival this long weekend:

Friday, Aug. 1

The Toronto Food Truck Festival opens at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, with the fun continuing until 10 p.m.

Musical entertainment will begin on the Main Stage at Woodbine Park at 5:30 p.m. There will be an eating challenge event at 6 p.m.

The Hip Experience (a tribute to the Tragically Hip) will then perform at 8 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 2

The festival takes place from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2.

An eating challenge will be on stage at 2:15 p.m.; followed by DJ Sogrates performing at 2:30 p.m.; Rachel & Ayden performing at 5 p.m.; an eating challenge on stage at 6 p.m.; and SMILE: Tribute to Grunge taking the stage at 8 p.m.

Sunday, Aug. 3

The festival runs from noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3.

There will be an eating challenge at 1 p.m. on the stage, and then the musical entertainment begins.

Tom Frelek performs at 2 p.m.; followed by Kendra Gabrielle at 4:30 p.m.

There’s another eating challenge at 6:40 p.m.; and the Big Shiny 90s performance starts at 7 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 4

The festival runs from noon to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 4.

There will be an eating challenge on stage at 2:15 p.m.; followed by a performance from Rachel & Ayden at 2:30 p.m.

Another eating challenge is set for 5:45 p.m.; and then Monkey Wrench (a tribute to the Foo Fighters) will perform starting at 6 p.m.

The Toronto Food Truck Festival is presented by Canadian Food Truck Festivals.
