The fourth annual Pape Village Block Party is slated for this weekend.

Presented by the Pape Village BIA, the free two-day festival will take over Pape Avenue between Mortimer and Cosburn avenues with live music, food, family activities and vendors.

The festival takes place on Saturday, Sept. 19, from noon to 9 p.m.; and on Sunday, Sept. 20, from noon to 6 p.m.

A children’s fun zone will feature bouncy castles, while costumed characters will roam the festival grounds. Face painting and a balloon twister will also be part of the weekend’s activities.

Visitors can also browse arts and crafts vendors, stop for something to eat and catch live musical performances throughout the festival.

Scheduled to perform on Saturday are DJ Soul Survival Sound, Peter & Anna Kids Band, Toronto All Star Big Band, Royal Midnight Groove, Snooky Tynes Soul Express, Yiannis Kapoulas, Caliber Funk and The Philcos, Moka and Break Free. Many of the same performers are scheduled to return on Sunday.

The annual street festival is designed to bring the community together while showcasing the businesses and neighbourhood that make up Pape Village.
