The Kennedy House Youth Shelter on Pape Avenue is holding a Coldest Night of the Year Walk in support of vulnerable youth across Toronto this Saturday.
This family-friendly fundraising event brings neighbours together to raise awareness about youth homelessness and to support the essential programs Kennedy House provides.
The walk takes place on Saturday, Feb. 28. Registration opens at 4 p.m., and the walk starts at 5 p.m. at St Barnabas Anglican Church, 361 Danforth Ave.
Participants can choose a two-kilometre or five-kilometre route. All funds raised stay local and help Kennedy House provide shelter, meals, counselling, and life skills programs for youth experiencing homelessness or crisis.
Toronto-Danforth MP Julie Dabrusin will attend the event and speak with participants, highlighting the importance of community support for vulnerable youth in Toronto.
“This walk brings our neighbourhood together to show young people that they are not alone and that their community cares,” said Deirdre MacLeod, Fund Development of Kennedy House, in a news release.
