BuskerFest, and Bark in the Park, set for this Labour Day weekend at Woodbine Park

It’s set to be an exciting Labour Day weekend at Woodbine Park, with Toronto BuskerFest and Bark in the Park TO, both in partnership with Epilepsy Toronto, taking place from this Friday, Sept. 4, through to Monday, Sept. 7.

Celebrating its 26th year, Toronto BuskerFest will bring four days of daredevil acts, fire shows, dance, comedy, drag, live music and more.

The lineup kicks off Friday with Flamenco Night, featuring award-winning dancer and choreographer Lia Grainger and Flamencolía Dance Company. Later that evening, DJ Euphonious will take over the Beer Garden for the Bad Bunny Foam Party, complete with themed photo ops and lots of foam.

Saturday morning offers Pancakes and Music with Ned, featuring pancakes with Ontario maple syrup, sausages or strawberries, coffee or juice, and live music from Beaches musician Ned Gordon

Monday’s events and performances will include Sucka’s Birthday Drag Brunch. Toronto drag favourite Sucka, known for their campy style and humour, will be joined by Mexican-Canadian drag artist Yovska, the self-described “Drag Plushie.” Advance purchase is required for the brunch. Labour Day weekend also features Drag & Draw, with Drag Bingo hosted by Sucka, and a performance by Toronto electric violinist Dr. Draw and his band, the Strange Parade.

Busker Laughs, hosted by Héctor Rivas, begins at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the Beer Garden.

And along with BuskerFest, Bark in the Park will give four-legged festivalgoers and dog lovers their own weekend of fun at Woodbine Park with vendors offering toys, personalized gear, premium pet food and more.

Bark in the Park will also feature many activities for pets to enjoy, including an obstacle course, doggie playzone and cool-off splash pad.

There will also be a costume contest held on Saturday, Sept. 5, with the most stylish pup taking home the prize. Canada’s Got Talent semi-finalists, The Canine Circus, will be putting on a spectacular show every day of the festival, with adorable and talented rescue dogs showing off tricks, stunts and comedy routines.
