‘New’ Withrow Park rink celebrates grand re-opening

Toronto-Danforth Councillor Paula Fletcher hosts a skating party on Saturday, Jan. 26, to officially celebrate the grand re-opening of the ‘new’ Withrow Park ice rink.

The skating party will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. at the rink which is located at the south end of Withrow Park, 725 Logan Ave.

The ribbon-cutting takes place at 1:30 p.m. and there will be there will be hot chocolate available.

In announcing the skating party, Fletcher thanked the Taber Family Foundation for its generous contribution to the refurbishing of the Withrow Park rink.

According to the City of Toronto, work on the rink’s rehabilitation included a new mechanical refrigeration system, a new scoreboard (thanks to the Taber Family Foundation), new lighting, new fencing and new boards and dasher boards which help deaden sound.
