Police investigating after male assaulted and shot with BB gun in Woodbine Beach area

Toronto police are investigating an incident last night on Woodbine Beach in which a person was assaulted and then shot with a BB gun.
Officers were called to the Woodbine Beach area at approximately 10:48 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, and located a male victim with injuries.
On X (formerly Twitter) last night, the incident was reported as a suspected stabbing and it was said the victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
In response to a request for more information from Beach Metro Community News this morning (Thursday, July 9), police said the victim had been shot with a BB gun.
“The call for service came over as a stabbing but once on scene, police confirmed with the victim that he was assaulted and then shot by a BB gun on the beach,” said police. “He was transported to hospital with injuries. This is believed to be a targeted incident.”
Police said no arrests have been made at this time and there were no suspect descriptions provided.
