Lots of Play community celebration event slated for Leslieville Loblaws parking lot
The Choice Properties Lots of Play event will take place from July 10 to July 12 in Leslieville.
Joining with VIBE Arts, the initiative turns parking lots across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) into free, accessible spaces for children, families and community members to come together.
There will be a number of creative workshops available focused on the arts, dance, music, and interactive experiences. At this weekend’s Leslieville event, guests can experience puppet-making, storytelling, ukulele, flower pounding, embroidery, steelpan workshops and more.
“By bringing arts programming directly into neighbourhood spaces, we’re creating opportunities for creativity, connection and joy in places people already know and use every day,” said Orit Sarfaty, Vice President, Placemaking and Social Impact at Choice Properties.
Lots of Play will be taking place at 17 Leslie St. in the Loblaws parking lot. Lots of Play will start on Friday, July 10, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and on Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Choice Properties is a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) that mainly owns Canadian retail properties anchored by its major tenant Loblaw Companies, which is also the majority unit holder in the REIT.
