Four arrests made, 17-year-old male charged with attempted murder, in connection with stabbing at Woodbine Beach

A 17-year-old male has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing that took place last Friday night in the Woodbine Beach area.

Three other people, ages 17 and 18, have also been arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm in connection with the incident on June 5 by the Boardwalk just west of the Woodbine Bathing Station.

Police announced the arrests in a news release on the afternoon of Thursday, June 11.

Police were called to the area at approximately 8:50 p.m. on June 5 for a reported stabbing.

According to police, two victims were approached by a group at Woodbine Beach and a verbal and physical altercation ensued. Police alleged one the group members brandished a knife and stabbed one of the victims. The other victim was allegedly physically assaulted but not stabbed in the incident, police said.

Both the victims were taken to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

In the June 11 news release, police said a 17-year-old male (who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act) was arrested and charged with attempted murder and two counts of assault causing bodily harm.

Another 17-year-old male (who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act) was arrested and charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm.

Rabeea Ziadah, 18, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm. Katchig Daneil, 18, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm.

In today’s news release, police thanked members of the public for their assistance and cooperation during the investigation.
