Beach Guild of Fine Art Spring Show set for this weekend

Works by Beach Guild of Fine Art member Tina Boroviak will be among the art featured at this weekend’s Spring Show set for May 29 to 31 at Beach United Church.

The Beach Guild of Fine Art Spring Show is slated to take place at Beach United Church this weekend.

The show opens on the evening of Friday, May 29, and continues on Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31.

The free, volunteer run event gives guests the opportunity to support local artists and purchase original pieces, with a portion of proceeds going towards supporting the Beach Guild of Fine Art.

The show will feature a variety of mediums, including oil, acrylic and pastel works, alongside smaller art accessories such as magnets, offering something for a range of tastes and budgets.

According to Norma Meneguzzi-Spall, an artist and executive secretary of the Beach Guild of Fine Art, participating artists will bring new work to each show, giving returning guests the chance to see familiar faces while viewing fresh pieces and techniques.

“It’s quite a popular event and we have people who not only come from the Beach and the Beach area, but we’re also drawing people in from outside the Beach,” said Meneguzzi-Spall. “It’s very much a community event.”

An opening reception will take place at Beach United Church, 140 Wineva Ave., this Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Hours for the show this Saturday and Sunday are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
