Man faces child sex abuse charges after police conduct search warrant in Main Street and Gerrard Street East area

Toronto police have arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with an investigation into an alleged child luring incident.
The Toronto Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant in the Main Street and Gerrard Street East area on Wednesday, May 13, in connection with an investigation into the alleged incident.
According to a news release from Toronto police on the afternoon of Friday, May 15, the investigation began in early 2026 with the assistance of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the National Child Exploitation Crime Centre (NCECC). According to the news release, the alleged internet luring took place in the City of Toronto.
Police alleged a man was communicating online with a person under the age of 16. Police alleged the man used the online user names CT and Crimson.
Christopher Thibodeau, 37, was arrested on May 13 and charged with luring a person under age 18, luring a person under age 16, invitation to sexual touching, sexual assault, make child sex abuse and exploitation material, possess child sex abuse and exploitation material, and access child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
