Police in 55 Division seek man in connection with alleged assault on subway train in late July

Toronto police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with an alleged assault that took place this summer in East Toronto.
According to police, officers were called to Woodbine Subway Station (Danforth and Woodbine avenues) on Thursday, Aug. 1, for a reported assault. The call was in relation to an incident that had taken place on a TTC subway train on Wednesday, July 24, at approximately 12:30 a.m., said Toronto police in a news release on Oct. 15.
Police said the victim was on the train when approached by a man demanding money. The victim ignored the demand and was then allegedly assaulted by the man, police said.
The suspect then fled the train, police said.
The suspect is described as having a heavy build, long dark hair, and a dark beard, He was wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts, and black shoes.
Images have been released of the suspect by police in the hopes that someone can identify him.
