Deja Views: Looking back at the Donald D. Summerville Oympic Pools shortly after the 1963 opening

The Donald D. Summerville Olympic Pools are seen in this June 1963 photo from the Toronto City Archives.

By DAVID VAN DYKE

This archival photograph, on the west side of The Donald D. Summerville Olympic Pools, was captured shortly after the grand opening in 1963.

Originally planned in the 1950s when the city was considering an Olympic bid, the facility features three areas — a 50-metre Olympic-sized pool, a 25-metre training pool and a dedicated diving pool for people with strong constitutions.

Do you have an old photo of this pool by the lake?
