There will be no GO train service on the Lakeshore East line this weekend, including Danforth station, due to planned construction work.
On Saturday and Sunday, there is no GO service to Union between Rouge Hill and Danforth, and those who usually take the GO train will need to consider TTC options.
GO buses will be replacing trains between Pickering and Oshawa, and will run direct from Pickering GO to Union Station Bus Terminal.
The closure partially begins tonight with hourly eastbound service between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. The last train from Union will be at 11:22 p.m., and anyone going east after that will have to hop on the TTC. The usual later trains to Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, and Durham College Oshawa GO will be replaced by GO buses.
On Monday, June 8, some trains will be travelling at a slower speed due to the construction, and some trains between Pickering and Durham College Oshawa GO will arrive and depart a few minutes later than usual.
Regular service is set to resume on Tuesday, June 9.
This weekend’s closure comes ahead of the arrival of the World Cup in the city, but at the same time as multiple events in Toronto. Those heading downtown from the east for All Things Go at RBC Amphitheatre, the Blue Jays game on Sunday, or connecting north for Luke Combs at Rogers Stadium will need to plan ahead and take extra time.
