Man and woman charged in connection with alleged gunshots in Kingston Road and Malvern Avenue area last year

Two Toronto residents are facing numerous firearm and drug-related charges following an investigation by Toronto police into reports of gunshots in the Kingston Road and Malvern Avenue area last year.

According to police, officers responded to a call about gunshots in the area on April 30, 2025 at approximately 3:08 a.m.

Police allege that a firearm was discharged in the area. There were no reported injuries or property destruction connected to the shots being fired, said police.

As a result of an investigation, police executed a search warrant on May 19 of this year. During the search, officers allegedly seized a loaded firearm, ammunition, MDMA, Crystal Meth and cash.

Joshua Hill, 36, of Toronto, has been charged with discharge of a prohibited firearm, possession of a weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon, careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowingly possessing a firearm not holding a license, three counts of possessing a firearm while prohibited, possessing a firearm with an altered serial number, careless storage of ammunition, possession of prohibited ammunition and possession of a prohibited device. Hill is also facing two counts of possessing schedule 1 substances of trafficking, and possessing proceeds obtained by a crime.

Christine Ferreira, 50, of Toronto, has also been charged with several offences including possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, possessing a prohibited firearm without a license, possessing a firearm with an altered serial number, careless storage of ammunition, possession of prohibited ammunition, and possession of a prohibited device. Ferreira is also charged with two counts of possessing schedule 1 substances for trafficking, and possessing proceeds obtained by a crime.
