Explorations in Creative Photography exhibit by Beach’s f8 Photography Collective opens on May 14

Based in the Beach, the f8 Photography Collective will be holding its Explorations in Creative Photography exhibit this month and next as part of the 2026 CONTACT Photography Festival.
The exhibit will be taking place at the Assembly Hall in Long Branch, Etobicoke, from May 14 to June 11. The f8 Photography Collective (f8) is celebrating its 18th year of creating contemporary photography for its local members.
The Explorations in Creative Photography exhibit welcomes visitors to experience natural scenes “transformed into unique artistic interpretations using inventive techniques in-camera or during post processing.”
Participating f8 members in the exhibit are Maureen Littlewood, Catherine MacKinnon, Lily Markovic, Rod Trider, Anthony Schatzky, Felicity Somerset, John Wallace and Jonathan Ward.
The Opening Reception for Explorations in Creative Photography, with the artists present, will be on Thursday, May 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Assembly Hall, 1 Colonel Sam Smith Park Dr.
The exhibit can also be viewed Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and every Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Assembly Hall gallery.
Also, the Assembly Hall and gallery be part of the Doors Open Toronto event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday May 23, and Sunday May 24.
