Hooray For Pizza Day celebrates two years at East Toronto’s Comedy Bar with free pizza event

The Comedy Bar is located at 2800 Danforth Ave., just east of Dawes Road.

Comedy Bar Danforth on Danforth Avenue will be giving away 100 free margherita pizzas courtesy of Hooray For Pizza Day on Monday, March 23.

The doors open for the free pizzas at 5:30 p.m., and they will be given to the first 100 customers.

The event is being held to celebrate the second anniversary of Hooray For Pizza Day serving at the Comedy Bar and as a thank you to the East Toronto community.

Founders Adam Ward and Sasha Warunkiewicz are the founders of Hooray for Pizza Day which creates Detroit-style sourdough pan-pizza.

The duo had lost their previous business location due to a fire in 2018. After years of rebuilding, they launched Hurray For Pizza Day out of a condo before finding their spot at Comedy Bar Danforth two years ago.

The business has since won second place for Canadian Pizza Chef of the Year.
