This TTC bus (in photo above) is headed southbound on Main Street, just south of Danforth Avenue. This photograph was taken in the mid 1950s.

Behind the coach is Hope United Church which was erected in 1930 on the northwest corner of Danforth Avenue and Main Street.

Do you have any old photographs of the TTC you’d like to share?

  1. I remember taking this bus I got on it at Williamson Road took it up to Danforth got on the street car and headed to Danforth Tech at Greenwood and Danforth and then coming home the same route and after that when I graduated from Danforth Tech, I started working at Robertson Chev Olds GM dealership as an apprentice mechanic and again I still didn’t have a car so I was taking the street car and the bus for another two years and I think I finally bought a car then at Volkswagen Danforth the 1967 brand new Volkswagen beetle and the only option was an AM radio
