The Bookish Market: East York Edition is set to take place this Saturday.

The event is a pay-what-you-can style fundraiser, featuring The Bookish Vendors Market, and is sponsored by Rochelle Hogue of Keller Williams Advantage Realty Brokerage.

The market is at Danforth Mennonite Church, 2174 Danforth Ave., on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Vendors at the market will be carrying books and literature-inspired goods. The event will also include a raffle, romance-themed trivia sessions, an author talk and Q&A, as well as a book-club social to discover new books. The raffle prizes will be book related and donated by local businesses.

Romance Trivia sessions will take place for a $7 entry fee at 12 p.m. to 12:30, 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The author talk and Q&A session with money expert Jessica Moorhouse will run from 2:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

The book-club social will be from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a $7 entry fee.

The idea is to offer an environment where everyone is welcome to socialize, read, play trivia or shop, while supporting the community.

The first 50 people to arrive at the market will receive five free raffle tickets. Additionally raffle tickets can be purchased in-person with cash at $5 for one, $10 for three or $20 for eight.

A portion of proceeds from The Bookish Market: East York Edition will be donated to Toronto Public Library’s literacy programs. Event tickets are available online at https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/the-bookish-market-east-york-edition-tickets-1982113808759?aff=oddtdtcreator
