Man sought in connection with alleged East Toronto break-ins

Toronto police are looking to locate a 49-year-old man wanted in connection with alleged break-ins last week in the Queen Street East and Broadview Avenue area.

Toronto police are asking for the public’s help to locate a man wanted in connection with a number of alleged break-ins in the East Toronto area last week.

Between Wednesday, Feb. 18, and Saturday, Feb. 21, police said they received five separate calls for break and enters in the Queen Street East and Broadview Avenue area.

According to police, a man allegedly damaged the locks on the front entrances to establishments and forced entry. Police said that once inside, a man would allegedly steal a number of items including cash boxes and cash registers, and then flee the area prior to officers arriving. 

David Correia, 49, of Toronto, is wanted on a number of charges including four counts of breaking and entering, mischief under $5,000, and six counts of failing to comply with a release order.

He is described as approximately six-feet tall, 160 pounds, with dark hair, grey/brown facial hair and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark coloured jacket with the hood up.

    An image has been released in the hopes that someone can make police aware of his whereabouts.
