No GO train service along Lakeshore East line this weekend, including Danforth station, due to planned track work

GO train service will be cancelled this weekend along the Lakeshore East line, including Danforth station.

GO Transit users should be aware that trains will be not be running along the Lakeshore East line between the Oshawa GO station and Union Station. For local residents, that means no GO Transit service of any kind at Danforth GO station.

The Lakeshore East line closure on Saturday, Nov. 15, and Sunday, Nov. 16, is for planned construction work.

Some late night service will also be adjusted on Friday, Nov. 14, with the last eastbound train making all stops leaving from Union Station at 10:50 p.m.

Regular train service will resume on the morning of Monday, Nov. 17.

GO buses will be available to replace trains between Oshawa and Pickering GO stations and will run directly between Pickering GO and the Union Station Bus Terminal. GO buses may depart and arrive at different times than regularly scheduled train service. 

For riders who usually pick up GO trains in East Toronto, the following stations will be closed: Danforth, Scarborough, Eglinton, Guildwood and Rouge Hill. GO shuttle buses will not serving any of those stations, and transit riders in those areas are advised to take the TTC or make other travel plans.

The construction is part of ongoing Metrolinx work for the planned Ontario Line, which will add 15 stops and 40 connections to other transit including the GO Train, subway, LRT, streetcars and bus lines.
