Beach BIA’s Halloween on Queen Costume Parade slated for this Saturday

Participants in a past Halloween on Queen event hosted by the Beach BIA are seen in this Beach Metro Community News file photo. This year’s Halloween on Queen celebration is planned for the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 31.

The Beach BIA is excited to announce the return of the community Costume Parade as part of Halloween on Queen events taking place this Saturday, Oct. 31.

Families, friends and four-legged companions are invited to dress up, explore the neighbourhood and enjoy a spooktacular afternoon celebrating everything that makes the Beach special.

The festivities and parade begin at 1:30 p.m. at Ivan Forrest Gardens park (131 Glen Manor Dr.).

Members of the Toronto Police Service will join residents in the park prior to the Costume Parade setting off at approximately 1:45 p.m.

Parade participants will make their way west along the sidewalks of Queen Street East to Kew Gardens park at 2075 Queen St. E.

From 2 to 4 p.m. there will be a variety of free, family-friendly activities including Halloween colouring tables, games, treats and more taking place in Kew Gardens.

Special guest Bolt the Robot Dog will be joining in the fun at Kew Gardens on the afternoon of Oct. 31.

Along with the activities in the park, visitors and participants are reminded that the Halloween celebration doesn’t stop at Kew Gardens.
Participating Queen Street East businesses will welcome trick-or-treaters throughout the afternoon on Oct. 31.

Along with Halloween activities, the Beach BIA is also presenting a number of other fun fall events this October along Queen Street East between Coxwell Avenue and Nursewood Road.

Among the activities is the Fall for the Beach campaign, that invites residents and visitors to discover the neighbourhood through 10 self-guided walks, and the Bio Diversity Dashboard.

The walks allow participants to take in the splendors of fall in the Beach at their own pace. The Dashboard welcomes residents and visitors to learn about the biodiversity that exists in the Beach.
