Todmorden Legion to host annual Heroes of Suicide Memorial March and Candlelight Vigil this Sunday

The Royal Canadian Legion Todmorden Branch 10 in East York will host its 11th annual Heroes of Suicide Memorial March and Candlelight Vigil in honour of those dealing with the impacts of PTSD on the evening of Sunday, Sept. 20.
Local residents are invited to take part and show their support by lining the parade route and attending the vigil.
Sunday’s Memorial March will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Starting at Todmorden Lane and Gamble Avenue, the march will head west along Gamble Avenue and then north on Pape Avenue to Woodville Avenue, before ending at Todmorden Branch 10 at 1083 Pape Ave.
Following the march, the Candlelight Vigil will start at 7 p.m. by the Legion’s plaque in honour of former military veterans, first responders and those who have lost their lives to suicide due to the impacts of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) connected to their service.
Suicide Prevention Month is in September and it serves as a time to raise awareness and show support to those dealing with PTSD and other challenges.
