Neil McNeil sending 13 athletes to OFSAA after winning fifth overall title in a row at Metro Track and Field Championships

Neil McNeil Catholic High School will be sending 13 athletes to the provincial track and field championships taking place this week in St. Catharines.

The local all-boys high school qualified those athletes by the track and field teams strong showing at the Metro (Toronto) championships held last week at Birchmount Stadium in Scarborough.

At the Metro meet, Neil McNeil won its fifth straight Overall Boys Title. The overall title spot was the result of strong performances by the school’s age-group teams. Neil McNeil’s Novice team won first place at the meet, followed by the Senior team with a second place finish and the Junior team in sixth place.

During its run of five straight Metro Track and Field Championship Overall Boys Title wins, Neil McNeil has collected nine age-division golds and five silvers.

At last week’s meet at Birchmount Stadium, Neil McNeil athletes won four gold medals, two silver medals, four bronze medals, and sixth fourth place finishes.

The Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Track and Field Championships will take place in St. Catharines from June 4 to 6.
