Toronto police’s 55 Division Community Police Liaison Committee held its annual Community Police Day on Saturday, May 9, at Jimmie Simpson Park.

Those attending were able to see police vehicles on display, learn about bicycle safety and crime prevention information,  and also enjoy a free barbecue.

The 55 Division event on Saturday also served as the site for the Toronto Police Service to launch Police Week 2026 across the city. On hand for the launch was Chief Myron Demkiw, Mayor Olivia Chow, Toronto Police Service Board Chair Shelley Carroll, Toronto Police Association President Clayton Campbell, and Dr. Jose Couto from the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP).
