Ted Reeve Thunder U18 AA team wins city title, taking part in Ontario Hockey Federation championships this weekend

The Ted Reeve Thunder U18 AA hockey team recently celebrated winning the Greater Toronto Hockey League city championship.

The team now heads on to the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) Championship Tournament slated for this weekend in Kitchener.

“What an incredible accomplishment — a true testament to the hard work, dedication, and pride this group has shown all season long,” said Andy Johnstone, general manager of Ted Reeve Thunder, in a note to Beach Metro Community News about the team’s success.

“You’ve already made everyone proud, and we’ll all be cheering you on as you take this next big step.”

The U18 AA Thunder took the GTHL crown with a 1-0 Game Five championship series win over the Mississauga Beast on Friday, April 10.

The Thunder opens the five-team OHF tourney this afternoon (Friday, April 17) with a games against the Brantford 99ers at 12:15 p.m. and then against the Burlington Eagles at 4:45 p.m.

On Saturday, April 18, the Thunder play the Soo Jr. Greyhounds at 9 a.m. and the Kitchener Jr. Rangers at 2 p.m.

Championship Day, featuring the top four teams to advance out of preliminary round play, will take place on Sunday, April 19.
