Five people charged, three under the age of 18, in connection with shot allegedly fired from vehicle in the Coxwell and Gerrard area

Five people are facing gun-related charges after a shot was allegedly fired from a vehicle in the Coxwell Avenue and Gerrard Street East area earlier this month.
Three of the accused, two boys and a girl are under the age of 18. A 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman have also been charged, said Toronto police in a news release issued on the night of Monday, July 28.
According to police, officers responded to a call for a shooting in the Coxwell and Gerrard area on Saturday, July 5, at 11:53 p.m.
Police said an altercation took place between a group of people in a vehicle and a group of people on the street, and that a gun was allegedly fired from the vehicle towards those on the street.
No one was injured but a property in the area was damaged.
Members of the Toronto police Gun & Gang Task Force – Centralized Shooting Response Team commenced an investigation and identified the suspects alleged to be responsible for the shooting.
On Friday, July 18, two male youths were arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle. Their names cannot be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The police investigation continued and on Thursday, July 24, officers executed a Criminal Code search warrant in the Coxwell and Gerrard area. As a result of that search, police allegedly seized a loaded 9-millimetre Ruger semi-automatic handgun, and a loaded .45-calibre Ruger semi-automatic handgun.
As a result, Faebian Dos Santos, 19, of Toronto was arrested and is facing a number of charges including discharging a firearm with intent, three counts of possession of a loaded prohibited/restricted firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and two counts of possession of a firearm knowing the serial number had been tampered with
Kayleigh Williamson, 20, of Toronto was also arrested and charged with possession of a loaded prohibited/restricted firearm, possession of a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered with, and failure to comply with a release order.
A Toronto girl under the age of 18 was also arrested an charged with possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm and possession of a firearm knowing the serial number had been tampered with. The name of the girl cannot be published under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
