Beaches Spring Sprint goes this morning along the Boardwalk

The annual Beaches Spring Sprint takes place this morning along the Boardwalk.

The run and walk, which raises funds for the Beaches Recreation Centre, begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, and local residents are encouraged to come out and cheer on the participants.

The Spring Sprint features a five-kilometre run and a seniors two-kilometre run/walk starting at 9:30 a.m.; and a two-kilometre walk/run for children starting at 10:30 a.m. Both run/walks will begin on the Boardwalk in front of the Leuty Pavilion that is near the foot of Lee Avenue.

Registration has already taken place for the Beaches Spring Sprint and there will not be any on-site (race day) registration this morning. Approximately 400 participants are expected to take part in the annual event which first began in 1987 and is hosted by the Beaches Recreation Centre Advisory Council.
