Firearms, drugs seized as a result of police investigation in the Victoria Park and Danforth avenues area

As a result of an investigation into alleged drug trafficking in the Victoria Park and Danforth avenues area earlier this week, police announced that they had seized firearms and a quantity of illicit drugs.

According to a police news release, officers from the Toronto Police Service Drug Squad Unit arrested a man on Sunday, Sept. 23, as part of an ongoing investigation in the East Toronto area.

Police said that subsequent to the arrest of the man in the Victoria Park and Danforth avenues area, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Toronto.

Police said the following items were seized as a result of the arrest, investigation and the execution of the search warrant:

  • Glock 21, 45 caliber semi-automatic handgun.
  • a Taurus 40 caliber semi-automatic handgun.
  • an over capacity magazine with 15 rounds of ammunition.
  • more than 200 hundred of rounds of various ammunition.
  • a laser sight for a handgun
  • a holster
  • digital scales
  • cellphones
  • more than 1700 grams of cocaine
  • more than 65 grams of crack-cocaine
  • a quantity of Canadian currency

Shaquille Evering-Kerr, 31, of Toronto, is facing numerous charges including drug trafficking, illegal possession of firearms, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, and possession of the proceeds of crime exceeding $5,000.
