Toronto’s 420 event set for Saturday at Woodbine Park

The 420 Toronto group is organizing a cannabis celebration at Woodbine Park on Saturday, April 20.

Toronto’s annual 4/20 event which celebrates cannabis is being planned by organizers to take place this year in Woodbine Park.

The event is set for Saturday, April 20 and is being billed on Facebook as a celebration of cannabis, and this year the event will also celebrate the legalization of cannabis in Canada.

The celebration at Woodbine Park, 1695 Queen St. E., goes from noon until 6 p.m., and is organized by the 420 Toronto group.

The significance of the date 4/20 is linked to a group of California high school students in the 1970s who would gather after class at 4:20 p.m. to smoke a joint after school.

Over the decades, the term has grown in popularity and status and the date of April 20 (4/20) is now used as the day to celebrate cannabis.
