If you are a young adult who was born and raised in the Beach, chances are your parents purchased you an outfit from Hobbit Town, a popular children’s wear store that was uniquely set back from the street. This cove-like area was a great place to meet or wait for the streetcar. It was located on the sunny side of Queen Street East, just east of Wineva. A special thank you to Sheldon Zelunka for sharing this photograph which he took in July, 1988. Do you have a photo you’d like to share? Please call me at 416-390-2527.
