Five years later, there’s been much trouble for any business trying to start up on the southeast corner of Queen and Leuty. After Becker’s Milk vacated in 2006, the owners of Quigley’s  purchased the property and planned to open a sister bar with a large patio spanning the east side of Leuty. Well, things must have gone awry, because during construction I happened to notice a subcontractor tearing down the broken stone façade that had been installed only a month before. Next it was St. Louis Bar and Grill’s turn to move in, but  they moved further west into the old Nevada restaurant location at Queen and Kenilworth. Much later I saw an ‘Office for Rent’ sign, and just last week there was an ‘opening soon’ poster for a yogurt stand. We might have to be patient for that yogurty treat.
