Do you know the next Citizen of the Year?

We take pride that our community is one of the best in the city to live in. And while we have great scenery, our schools, our arena, our churches, our community centre are top notch because this neighbourhood also has a strong tradition of active volunteers working for the good of all.

Volunteers are responsible for starting up a terrific farmer’s market, volunteers make and maintain a wonderful natural ice-skating rink in Glen Stewart Park, volunteers make Community Centre 55’s Share-A-Christmas program the best in the city.

And what do these many, many individuals get for their efforts? For the most part just the knowledge that they make a difference. Now you can make a difference to them. Nominate that one special volunteer for Citizen of the Year.

The deadline of Aug. 12 is approaching. Nomination forms are available on line at www.centre55.com, or you can pick one up at Centre 55, 97 Main St.
