Dutch Pot in Diaspora: A Black Art Salon & Liming

The Black Art Salon will bring together visual art, food-based storytelling, community connection, games, and speed-friending. The gathering celebrates the creativity, complexity, memory, resistance, joy, and future-building of Black communities across the African diaspora.

The exhibition centres and celebrates Black artists, but friends, neighbours, and allies of all backgrounds are warmly invited to come lime with us. In Caribbean culture, liming means hanging out, relaxing, and socializing with friends, so pull up for art, games, conversation, and community.

There is also current Call for Artists to submit their work to this exhibition, and the deadline is Friday August 14th! Check out eastendarts.ca/artlabs2026 for more information.
