In Photos: Taste of the Danforth serves up a lively return

After a two-year hiatus, Taste of the Danforth returned to Danforth Avenue this past weekend, filling the street with food, fun, music, dancing and crowds for the three-day celebration.
Running from Aug. 7 to 9 between Broadview and Jones avenues, the festival brought together more than 100 local restaurants and businesses, live entertainment, family activities and flavours from around the world. While the festival’s Greek heritage remained front and centre, the weekend also celebrated the many cultures and communities that make up Toronto.
The festival last took place in 2023, following cancellations from 2020 to 2022. It was cancelled again in 2024 and 2025 amid funding challenges. This year, funding from the City of Toronto and Province of Ontario helped bring the festival back, with the federal government announcing an additional funding of up to $100,000, just days before the event began.
Beach Metro Community News was there to capture some of the sights, sounds and, of course, food as Taste of the Danforth returned to the east end.
