SickKids Heatwave beach volleyball fundraiser set for this Saturday at Woodbine Beach

Heatwave, the popular beach volleyball fundraiser for Toronto’s SickKids hospital, is back for its 32nd year this weekend at Woodbine Beach.
Over its more than three decades, Heatwave has raised more in excess of $5 million for SickKids, while also becoming the Guinness World Record holder for the largest beach volleyball tournament.
The charitable event welcomes players of all abilities and skillsets, bringing together fitness, sportsmanship, and fundraising. This year, SickKids will be partnering with Mikasa, giving each registered team an official Mikasa Olympic beach Volleyball.
This summer will see three Heatwave tournaments taking place at the beach volleyball courts on Woodbine Beach with the first one set for this Saturday, July 11. Other Heatwave tournaments at Woodbine Beach this summer will be on Saturday, Aug. 22, and Saturday, Sept. 12.
Other locations for Heatwave tournaments in the Greater Toronto Area are the Sports Village Beach Facility in Vaughan and the Volleyball Canada Indoor Beach Centre in Toronto.
