Breakfast is on the menu for Santa at number of East Toronto events this weekend

Santa will be doing breakfast this weekend in East Toronto as a number of Christmas events are planned locally.

On Saturday, Dec. 14, the Beaches Recreation Centre hosts its Pancake Breakfast from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The event will feature a visit from Santa and activities for kids. There is no charge to attend but a donation of a non-perishable food item for distribution to a local food bank will be appreciated. The Beaches Recreation Centre is located at 6 Williamson Rd. The Pancake Breakfast is hosted by the Beaches Recreation Advisory Council.

Also on Saturday, Dec. 14, St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 904 Coxwell Ave. in East York, will host its Pancake Breakfast with Santa and his Elves. Cost is adults $8; children $6; family of six $30. For advance tickets, please call 416-421-6878 ext. 21.

On Sunday, Dec. 15, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 22 and Branch 11 will host a Breakfast with Santa. It will take place at the Branch 22 Legion, 1240 Woodbine Ave. The breakfast will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until noon, with the last seating at 11:30 a.m. Those attending can expect pancakes, bacon or sausages, coffee or tea for the adults, and juice for the kids Cost is $5. The organizers are reminding those coming out for the event that the cost is for one serving, and the event is not an all-you-can eat breakfast buffet. Kids attending will have the chance to win a prize for the best ugly Christmas sweater as well the opportunity to have a photo taken with Santa. Tickets to the Breakfast with Santa at Legion Branch 22 will be sold at the door.

Also taking place this weekend locally is the Corbin’s Christmas Market at the Union Realty building at 2234 Queen St. E., northeast corner of Beech Avenue. The festive pop-up market is open seven days a week and will continue through until Dec. 23.
