Bazaars, holiday craft fairs on tap this weekend in East Toronto

East Toronto residents can attend a number of events aimed to get them into the holiday spirit this weekend.
From craft fairs to family workshops, there’s something for everyone.
Here are some of the events taking place locally this weekend:
On Saturday, Nov. 9, the Vendor and Community Fair at Birchcliff Bluffs United Church (33 East Rd., near Warden Avenue and Kingston Road) is slated to take place between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The fair is hosted by Rainbow Community Places, which runs Toby’s Place and Dorothy’s Place at church.
The fair will feature local vendors offering food, jewelry, art, stickers, and more. Admission is free, and the venue is mobility aid accessible. Those attending should not that there is no ATM on site.
Also on Saturday, Nov. 9, the Name Your Emotions: Story Stick Workshop for Families will take place at the Gerrard Art Space, 1475 Gerrard St. E., at 2 p.m.
Facilitated by Pamela Schuller, this hands-on activity allows parents and children to explore emotions by wrapping colorful yarn around sticks, each colour representing a different feeling. This workshop encourages open communication and emotional understanding. The workshop fee is $45 for one parent and one child. To reserve your spot, please contact pamelaschuller8@gmail.com.
This weekend (on both Saturday, Nov. 9, and Sunday, Nov. 10) will also see the annual Corpus Christi Catholic Church Craft Fair taking place.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The church is located at 1810 Queen St. E.
This family-friendly event will feature a wide range of local vendors offering handmade goods, jewelry, delicious treats, gift ideas, and more.
On Saturday, Nov. 9, Fallingbrook Presbyterian Church will host its Fall Bazaar.
The church is located at 31 and 35 Wood Glen Rd. The bazaar takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Those attending are invited to enjoy shopping from a variety of tables featuring seasonal crafts, quilts, children’s PJs, scarves, mittens, jewelry, baked goods, and more. There will also be a silent auction, basket draws, and Toonie table, and snacks. The event is wheelchair accessible.
