Fear Factory makes its return to the Beaches Recreation Centre this weekend, just in time for Halloween.

Celebrating its 14th year, the Fear Factory haunted house experience starts on Friday, Oct. 25, and continues through until Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Beaches Recreation Centre, 6 Williamson Rd.

It takes organizers three full days to set up the haunted house in which participants will experience the unique powered platform cart that takes them on a thrilling four-minute ride through a 2,500 square foot indoor maze backwards!

“I used to work at the Beaches Recreation Centre in the 1990s and now as an adult I still continue to volunteer and run the Halloween event,” said Fear Factory’s lead coordinator and volunteer Jay Marks.

The event is a popular community event at Halloween, and more than two dozen volunteers help to make it happen.

“It’s truly a scary experience for sure. Every year we have over 100 people that end up on our chicken out board (begging to leave the ride or they didn’t make it into the first tent),” said Marks.

The Beach Fear Factory is suited for ages eight and above.

Admission is free with any food donation, which will be collected and given to Community Centre 55’s Christmas food drive.

Times for Fear Factory are 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25; and from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, and Sunday, Oct. 27.
