By ISABELLE FERNANDES
Local GO Transit users of the Lakeshore East Line should know that starting after 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct 4, and continuing through this weekend, train service will be temporarily suspended for the entire line (Union to Oshawa stations) to accommodate track work.
Replacement GO buses will be available for customers at Durham College Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax and Pickering GO stations and Union Station Bus Terminal. During this weekend’s closure there will no GO Transit service at all at Rouge Hill, Guildwood, Eglinton, Scarborough or Danforth GO stations.
Service on the Lakeshore East Line will resume on the morning of Monday, Oct. 7.
Please note on the morning of Oct. 7, the westbound trains from Durham College Oshawa to Union GO between 5:05 a.m. and 5:40 a.m. will depart one minute earlier.
This weekend’s planned track work will increase GO train service across the network for, what according to GO’s website, will become a more frequent, two-way, all-day rapid transit service.
