Victim of fatal shooting near Warden and Danforth avenues identified as Ioannis Kyriakopoulos, 64
Toronto police are continuing to investigate the shooting death of a 64-year-old man in the area of Warden and Danforth avenues last Friday.
Police were called to a home on Landry Avenue, just west of Danforth Road, at approximately 11:25 p.m. on Aug. 30 for reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, a 64-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds. Emergency medical care was performed but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a news release on Aug. 31, police identified the shooting victim as Ioannis Kyriakopoulos. He is the owner of the home where the shooting took place, police said.
In a news conference at the scene on Aug. 31, police said they believed the Kyriakopoulos was the intended victim and that the shooting was targetted.
