Victim of fatal shooting near Warden and Danforth avenues identified as Ioannis Kyriakopoulos, 64

Toronto police are continuing to investigate the shooting death of a 64-year-old man in the area of Warden and Danforth avenues last Friday.

Police were called to a home on Landry Avenue, just west of Danforth Road, at approximately 11:25 p.m. on Aug. 30 for reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, a 64-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds. Emergency medical care was performed but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a news release on Aug. 31, police identified the shooting victim as Ioannis Kyriakopoulos. He is the owner of the home where the shooting took place, police said.

In a news conference at the scene on Aug. 31, police said they believed the Kyriakopoulos was the intended victim and that the shooting was targetted.

Ioannis Kyriakopoulos, 64, has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting on Landry Avenue on the night of Friday, Aug. 31.

Police investigators are asking witnesses, or anyone who was in the area at the time that may have information to contact police.
