Kew Gardens
This public park is undoubtedly one of the neighbourhood’s most popular places. With ample shade from majestic trees, beautiful flower gardens, the Alex Christie Bandshell, a softball diamond, and a playground and splash pad for kids, it offers everything you need — there’s also a bathroom and water fountain. Plus, you’ll find a variety of restaurants and take-out options just a short stroll away on Queen Street East, including the recently opened What A Bagel at the northeast corner of Waverley Road and Queen Street East.
R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant
The R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant is a great picnic spot, featuring stunning views of Lake Ontario and lovely gardens. The plant’s historic architecture adds charm to your outing. Plus, you can easily grab lunch or dinner to go from ViVetha Bistro next door, allowing you to enjoy a delicious meal while soaking in the beautiful lakeside scenery.
Woodbine Park / Woodbine Beach
Woodbine Beach and Woodbine Park are two of the busiest spots in the neighbourhood, brimming with opportunities for people-watching or catching a volleyball match. You can stroll along the boardwalk, play at the playgrounds, or take a refreshing swim at the beach. Don’t forget to grab a falafel or shawarma wrap from the iconic Delina’s restaurant nearby, and spend your day or evening enjoying the sunny vibes of summer!
Rosetta McClain Gardens
This fully accessible garden park offers braille signage, raised planters, rose gardens, and a rock fountain with a pergola. It’s a haven for flower connoisseurs, bird and butterfly watchers, and offers spectacular views of Lake Ontario from the top of Scarborough Bluffs, making it a popular spot for picnics. There are drinking fountains, a picnic shelter area and washroom facilities, too. Pack a picnic basket, and take a walk
Ashbridge Estate
The historic Ashbridge Estate, located on Queen Street East between Greenwood and Coxwell Avenues, has a tranquil atmosphere perfect for unwinding. It’s an ideal spot to read your favourite book, catch up on remote work, or take a peaceful nap under the swaying willow trees. If you’re coming from the east end, be sure to stop by Holi Tacos at Coxwell and Queen. This taco joint, which opened this spring, has been receiving rave reviews for its authentic flavours and inviting ambiance, making it a great addition to your visit!
