Kingston Road Village Spring Festival

The Kingston Road Village Spring Festival is happening this Saturday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy a fun-filled day with a scavenger hunt, games, live music, face painting, food and drink samples, and raffle baskets. Explore local shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and services as the community gathers to celebrate. Scavenger hunt forms are available at most businesses and can be dropped off at Ukulele SUP by 4 p.m. Raffle tickets are also available at Ukulele SUP, with donations provided by local businesses. Kid2Kid Marketplace

The second annual Kid’s Marketplace, hosted by Kid2Kid, will take place on Saturday, June 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Beaches Recreation Centre. Over 40 youth entrepreneurs will sell handmade goods to raise funds for the Red Door Family Shelter. Attendees can enjoy live music, photo ops, a silent auction, and a barbecue sponsored by Fearless Meat. Kid2Kid is a non-profit founded by two local moms in 2019.

Beach Guild of Fine Art Spring Show and Sale

The Beach Guild of Fine Art (BGFA) is hosting its annual Art Show and Sale at Beach United Church, starting tonight at 5 p.m. and running through Sunday, June 2. Founded in 1994, the BGFA is a group of 60 local artists dedicated to promoting art in the Beach neighbourhood. The show will feature a variety of original paintings in acrylic, oil, mixed media, and watercolours, as well as cards and gift items. Don’t miss this opportunity to support local artists and find unique pieces of art!

Beaches Artisan Market

Queen St Marketplace, one of the neighbourhood’s favourite markets, is set to take place at Kew Gardens on June 1 and July 13 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event offers a day of shopping and fun with free admission for everyone. Kids can enjoy free face painting, transforming into their favourite characters. Attendees can explore the handcrafted works of over 50 independent artists, artisans, makers, and designers. It’s a perfect outing for family and friends.

Bard in the Park

The Panoply Theatre Collective presents the annual Bard in the Park performances, starting this week in East Toronto. This year’s production, Prove A Villain, a radical reimagining of Shakespeare’s Richard III, will be held at Norwood Park and Kew Gardens. Sponsored by Community Centre 55, the Willowdale Central Ratepayers Association, and the Ontario Historical Society, all performances are free to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets or seating due to limited available cushions. Norwood Park performance happens tonight,May 31 at 7 p.m., and June 1 and 2 at 2 p.m. Kew Gardens performances are on June 11-14 at 7 p.m., and June 15 and 16 at 2 p.m. Reserve tickets and make donations at Panoply Collective.
