Local residents should be aware that there will be no GO train service on the Lakeshore East Line through Toronto this weekend due to planned construction work on the tracks.

On Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27, there will be no GO trains running between Rouge Hill and Union stations in East Toronto.

Those who would usually take the GO train from stations between those stops (Rouge Hill, Guildwood, Eglinton, Scarborough and Danforth) are being advised to use the TTC instead this weekend.

The last train east out of Union Station to Oshawa departs tonight (Friday, Sept. 25) at 11:22 p.m.

For this weekend, GO buses will replace train service from Union and Ajax GO stations. Trains will continue to run at the east end of the line between Ajax and Oshawa stations.

From Ajax, the GO buses will travel west (stopping only at Pickering station) and then directly to Union station in downtown Toronto. The buses and will not stop at any of the East Toronto GO station stops between. Buses heading east from Union Station will stop only at the Pickering and Ajax GO stations.

Regular train service along the full Lakeshore East line will resume on Monday, Sept. 28.
