The Beach BIA’s Outdoor Summer Movie Series starts with soccer flick Kicking and Screaming on July 8

The 2005 film Kicking and Screaming, with Will Ferrell, is about a youth soccer team and the challenges it faces. The movie will be shown on the night of Wednesday, July 8, in Kew Gardens as part of this year’s summer movie series presented by The Beach BIA.

The Outdoor Summer Movies Series will be returning to Kew Gardens park starting next week.

Presented by The Beach BIA and sponsored by The Richards Group, a number of family-friendly movies will be shown throughout July and August.

Given all the excitement around the FIFA World Cup now taking place, the opening movie on the night of Wednesday, July 8, has a soccer theme.

Kicking and Screaming (2005) stars Will Ferrell as the coach of youth soccer team. The family film sees the team overcome challenges and also stars Robert Duvall and Mike Ditka.

Kew Gardens park is located at 2075 Queen St. E.

The free movie screenings will begin at sunset and finish by 11 p.m. They will take taking place every Wednesday night from July 8 to Aug. 12. 

Those attending should bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on, and are also encouraged to patronize local businesses in the area before the movies start.
