Female pedestrian has life-threatening injuries after being struck by driver of vehicle in the Port Lands

Toronto police are asking for anyone with information to come forward in regard to a collision that took place in the Port Lands this morning in which a female pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries.

According to police, officers responded to a call for a personal injury collision in the Carlaw Avenue and Commissioners Street area at approximately 6:25 a.m. on Monday, June 29.

Police allege that a 59-year-old man was driving a black Jeep SUV, eastbound on Commissioners, and crossing Carlaw. A woman was struck by the vehicle while crossing the street, said police.

The woman was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, said police.

The investigation is still ongoing and police are asking residents, businesses, and drivers with dashcam or security footage of the incident to contact investigators.
