Beach Guild of Fine Art Spring Show among events set for the final day of May

Art and music are on the agenda in the Beach today as a busy last weekend of May enters its final Sunday.
Beach United Church, at 140 Wineva Ave., will be a centre of activity today on Sunday, May 31, as the Beach Guild of Fine Art wraps up its annual Spring Show and the Jazz & Reflection music series presents a performance by 8 TO THE BAR.
The Beach Guild of Fine Art Spring Show is on today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The show is free to attend and will feature a variety of mediums, including oil, acrylic and pastel works, alongside smaller art accessories such as magnets, offering something for a range of tastes and budgets.

The Jazz & Reflection performance by jazz choir 8 TO THE BAR is slated for 4:30 p.m. The choir will perform a mix of popular jazz standards and more. Featuring guest bassist George Koller, Dr. Steven Webb on keys, and Sheila Brand directing, the program ranges from Birdland and God Bless the Child to Wade in the Water and The Pink Panther.

Also taking place today is the Beaches Artistan Market in Kew Gardens from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The market will feature the handcrafted works of more than 50 vendors featuring an eclectic variety of items and promoting community spirit. Kew Gardens is located at 2075 Queen St. E.

Also slated for today in East Toronto is the East End Kids Pride celebration.
The event goes from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dentonia Park, 80 Thyra Ave.
The schedule for today will see a morning welcome, followed by a Rainbow Circus performance from 10:30 to 11 a.m.; then the Queen Arts Market from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; the opening ceremonies at noon; the Kids Pride Parade around the park with Shadowland Theatre from 12:30 to 1 p.m.; a second performance by Rainbow Circus from 1 to 1:30 p.m.; and Drag Storytime and Performance with Manny Dingo Chelazon Leroux from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The celebrations wrap up with a Dance Party in the Park from 2:30 to 3 p.m.
