ENAGB Indigenous Youth Agency hosts Cultural Festival and Competition Powwow at Woodbine Park this weekend

The ENAGB Indigenous Youth Agency East Centre will host its First Annual Cultural Festival and Competition Powwow at Woodbine Park this weekend
With the theme “Honouring the voices of the future,” the event takes place on Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24, starting at noon each day with the Grand Entry. Woodbine Park is located at 1695 Queen St. E.
The celebration will include Indigenous drumming displays, and dance performances and competitions, in styles such as grass, jingle, woodland and smoke, fancy and traditional. There will also be vendor displays showcasing items such as beadwork, handmade goods, clothing and jewelry, as well as food and refreshments.
ENAGB comes from the name and vision “Eshkiniigjik Naandwechigegamig – A Place for Healing Our Youth” –“Aabiish Gaa Binjibaaying – Where Did We Come From?” The organization offers cultural, employment, life skills, recreational opportunities and holistic wellness for youth ages 12 to 29.
The ENAGB Indigenous Youth Agency East Centre operates in East York from 1005 Woodbine Ave.
