In Loving Memory of Bridget North who passed away this month at age 84.
After studying radiology in England and Germany, Bridget emigrated to Toronto on her wedding day in 1964. Bridget spent over 40 years living in the Beaches and delivered the Ward 9 News with her two sons Andrew and Gavin in the 1970s and 80s. Bridget worked as an X-ray technician in various Toronto hospitals and clinics.
She was involved in many Beaches groups including being a founding member of the East End Refugee Committee and the Beaches Babysitting Co-op. Until very recently, she was an active participant in her church, committees, and social groups.
Donations in lieu of flowers or in memory of Bridget can be made to St. John’s Norway Anglican Church (stjohnsnorway.com/giving) or The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation (thepmcf.ca).
Bridget was much loved and will be much missed by all who knew her.
“I am thankful for the beauty of the earth and the things we get for free – the sun, the water, the flowers, and the birds (especially the cardinals).” — Bridget North
